Brenne Ten is a 10-year-old French single malt whisky aged for “a decade in a combination of virgin French Limousin oak barrels and barrels previously used for aging Cognac.” Prior to that, it was distilled in copper alembic Charente stills after being fermented from two organically grown varieties of heirloom barley that were raised “in the fields of Cognac.”
Awarded #2 World’s Best Single Malt at London’s Wizards of Whisky.
Producer's Notes: Using colder fermentations and small batch production, Brenne is twice distilled in a copper alembic still for a smoother finish. This whisky starts out aging in new Limousin oak barrels before being finished in our distiller’s own used Cognac casks. This combination brings lots of tree fruit, vanilla and warm spice notes. Each bottle of Brenne comes from a single barrel selected at its peak. We don’t blend barrels, preferring to maximize the character and uniqueness of each lot.
