This 100% Viognier "Baies Dorées" expresses the full, aromatic potential of this fascinating grape, with scents of exotic fruits, citrus, and freshly baked brioche.
Having evolved from wild grapevines in the Rhône Valley, Viognier produces berries which when ripe become amber-colored with golden highlights. Brotte harvests its Viognier at peak maturity early in the morning. Gentle pneumatic pressing is followed by strict cold-settling at 10°C for 48 hours before alcoholic fermentation in stainless for 15 days at 18-20°C. This wine doesn’t go through malolactic fermentation in order to preserve the freshness and primary fruit aromas. Bottled in March following the year of the harvest after tangential filtration.
Color: Clear yellow with green tinges.
Nose: The bouquet offers a unique aromatic range including citrus flowers, exotic fruits, apricots, white-fleshed stone fruit and jasmine.
Palate: Intensely fruity and well balanced. At once mouth-filling and fat which works in harmony with the palate redolent of exotic fruits and toasted brioche.
