The Old Malt Cask Croftengea 12 Years Old 2006 is a peated Highlands single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery bottled in the Old Malt Cask series by the independent bottler Hunter Laing. This Croftengea was distilled in March 2006 and matured in refill hogshead HL15541. Croftengea is (with Inchfad) one of the peatiest malts made at Loch Lomond–probably Scotland's most versatile distillery.
Distillery notes: “Since 1814 Loch Lomond Distillery has been crafting the finest Single Malt Whiskies which are every bit as delicious as the landscape is stunning. Craft and style are intrinsically linked. The sweep of the artists touch, the care of woodcarvers hand, the tuning of an instrument to evoke the perfect note. For us, whisky is no different. We have shaped our distilling style to be as identifiable as the work of any craftsmen or composer. Through the distilling choice we make, our expressions always deliver fruit, sweet honey and soft smoke. It's our style, its timeless and distinctive and keeps us true to our origins.”
Fans of Hergé’s Tintin will note that Loch Lomond is the Scottish whiskey that both Captain Haddock and Snowy enjoy at various times in their adventures.
