Proprietors Ben & Jake Fetzer are grandsons of the legendary Barney Fetzer, a Mendocino wine pioneer. Their well-grown Pinot Noir is aged in French oak barrels, followed by 15 months sur lie. Intense high-toned red fruits combine with hints of licorice and baking spice. Racy acidity and youthful tannins contribute to its well-rounded structure. Masút is a local Native American word meaning “dark, rich earth.”
"A savory sage aroma hints at the complexity and interest to be found in this charming, complete and full-bodied wine. Accents of cinnamon, nutmeg and chaparral blend with red cherry and rhubarb on the palate, while light tannins give it just enough grip in the texture." — Jim Gordon Wine Enthusiast 93 Points
