Producer's Notes:
This wine is a blend of primarily 81% Syrah, 9% Grenache, 8% Mourvedre and 2% Tempranillo from a selection of vineyards along the central Cost of California in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
Traditional winemaking techniques included fermentation in a combination of small open top fermenters using manual punch-downs, and larger closed top tanks using pump-overs. The wine was aged in separate lots of small French oak barrels (mostly neutral) for 16 months.
2015 was a warmer than normal vintage resulting in a small, intensely flavored crop. The resulting wine reflects a dark, fruit forward expression of rich blackberry, boysenberry, and black plum. Concentrated flavors and smooth tannins make this vintage the perfect match for barbeque, game meats, and holiday gatherings. Enjoy this wine young in 2018 to 2020 or age up to 10 years in the cellar.
